How we met

We first met during our very first week at Marist College in the fall of 2014. Greg might have forgotten Michaela’s name after they met and jokingly started calling her “Josephine” instead.

We lived just one floor apart in Leo Hall, Michaela on the 2nd floor, Greg on the 3rd and quickly became close friends.

Although we "officially" started dating on September 12th, 2015, our friends would probably say it started long before then!

This photo is our very first photo taken together, on October 3rd, 2014! At a frat party, of course.

College Days

We met in college, where our relationship grew alongside a close group of friends who are still an important part of our lives today. We spent a lot of time studying (or pretending to study) together in the James Cannavino Library, grabbing coffee between classes, and hanging out on the weekends.

Some of our favorite memories were made hiking in the Hudson Valley, especially around Beacon, where we're getting married. We loved spending time on the trails and checking out local breweries afterward. We're excited to share a bit of what made our college days so special with all of you.

Study Abroad

We spent a semester studying abroad in Florence, which turned out to be one of the best decisions we’ve made. Living in Italy gave us the chance to experience a new culture, improve our pasta intake, and learn what it’s like to navigate life in a foreign country together. It was also where we both officially caught the travel bug.

Some of our favorite places were Ireland, Denmark, and the Czech Republic. From hiking Ireland’s coastline to biking through Copenhagen and wandering around Prague’s historic streets, those travels left a lasting impact.

Covid-19

After college, Michaela was living in Manhattan and Greg was in Stamford, Connecticut. That changed when the pandemic hit and Michaela moved into Greg’s apartment, where we ended up living together 24/7 for three months straight.

Those early days were filled with creative at-home workouts, cooking experiments (some more successful than others), and a whole lot of quality time. It was an unexpected crash course in living together, and somehow, we really enjoyed it.

Somewhere between the burnt dinners and the living room yoga sessions, we realized this was the real thing. If we could get through a pandemic together, we knew we could take on just about anything.

New York City

We moved in together in the fall of 2020, probably one of the most chaotic times to move to New York City. Thanks to a classic COVID deal, we found a great first apartment in Manhattan. Surrounded by doctors and lawyers, we definitely felt a bit out of place, but that apartment quickly became a memorable and meaningful first home. In that apartment we hosted countless wine nights, football Sundays and True American games (if you know, you know)

With indoor dining shut down, we spent that first winter eating dinner outside on sidewalks in the freezing cold. It wasn’t exactly glamorous, but it gave us plenty of stories and a good sense of humor.

After a couple of years in Manhattan, we moved to Williamsburg in search of a slower pace and a little more space. New York City is where we grew together, started our careers, and made some great memories. We’ll always be grateful for the time we spent there.

California

In the summer of 2023, we took a leap of faith and moved to the West Coast. We had originally planned to settle in Denver, but sometimes life takes you in an unexpected direction. After several months of uncertainty, living out of suitcases, tough decisions, and a few emotional moments when things didn’t go as planned, we found ourselves starting fresh in Los Angeles.

Now, more than two years later, we couldn’t be happier with where we’ve landed. From road trips along the California and Oregon coasts to adventures in Arizona, Utah, the Canadian Rockies, and countless national parks, and ski trips in the Sierra Nevadas, we’ve embraced every opportunity to explore.

There is still so much on our bucket list, and we’re excited for all the adventures ahead as we begin this next chapter together as a married couple.
